Nortec A/S expands with new subsidiary

We are pleased to announce the establishment of our new subsidiary, Kombine Technology ApS, which initially formed Nortec’s development department. This expansion is a part of our investment in the British laundry business, WASHCO, which has also become a partner of Kombine.

In 2000, we were the first on the market to offer our customers a laundry solution based on an IoT platform. Kombine Technology will continue to maintain and develop this platform, which aims to centralize operations and collect data from all machines in the laundry, regardless of brand and model. The collected data contributes to optimizing the user experience and streamlining the workflows in servicing and managing laundries – benefiting customers and users.

Nortec is the primery owner of Kombine Technology with a 69% stake, while WASHCO, Nortec’s collaborative partner, enters with a 23% stake.

The remaining shares of Kombine Technology belong to Jens Aage Arendt. Jens has been a part of Nortec’s development department for over 17 years and has played a central role in developing and shaping the platform into what it is today.

Thomas Larsen, former co-owner of Service Centralen A/S and business unit manager at Nortec, has been appointed CEO of Kombine Technology.

“With more than 20 years of experience in the laundry industry and a background in software development and international sales, Thomas is the right person to introduce Kombine Technology to the market,” says Nortec’s CEO, Michael Sand.

“By transforming the development department into an independent company, we can intensify our focus on innovation. We continue to want to develop our laundry solution to best meet our customer’s current and future needs. At the same time, we aim to adapt the platform to new markets – including the British market, where WASHCO will play a significant role,” says Kombine Technology’s CEO, Thomas Larsen.

Kombine Technology ApS will remain an integrated part of Nortec and will continue to be based at Nortec’s headquarters in Vejle. The expansion will not affect Nortec’s customers or users.
