Inspection from June 2024
The June inspection followed the mapping plan, surveying for amphibians, birds, plants, mammals, and butterflies. Generally, species typical of open grasslands with low nutrient levels and good sun exposure were recorded. Few mammal species were observed, but signs of red deer were found in most sample areas. Two amphibian species were recorded: the common frog and the smooth newt. Several more common frogs and common toads were also found on land. No reptiles were observed. Additionally, burnet moths, damselflies, and dragonflies were discovered during the inspection and added to the species list.
Inspection from April 2024
The April inspection followed the mapping plan, surveying for amphibians and daytime butterflies. The afforestation area was also botanically surveyed to document the development since the baseline registration. In general, species typical of open land were recorded, but no amphibian species were found. However, frost-damaged egg clumps from common frogs were discovered. Another amphibian survey will be conducted in June. Additionally, four more species were recorded during the inspection.
