Total renovation of the communal laundry on Finlandsvej

For the past couple of years, Finlandsparken has been on the government's "hard ghettolist," prompting the housing association to initiate several initiatives to promote social balance. These efforts focus on strengthening community ties, enhancing resident well-being,and highlighting the area's numerous qualities.

The initiatives also aim to create attractive communal spaces. AAB Vejle has developed new playgrounds, beautiful outdoor areas with tables and benches, community houses, event venues and a communal laundry. These enhancements provide residents with ample opportunities to come together, foster community spirit, and nurture neighborhood life.

Fokus on the laundry

Despite several residents having their own household appliances, AAB Vejle has chosen to update the communal laundry as part of their new sustainability strategy and to prevent loneliness. The aim of the update is to create a cozy and inviting space where residents can gather and take care of their daily chores.

Personal initiation

At the opening of the new communal laundry, we wanted to gather the residents, show them their updated laundry and provide an introduction to the new machines and payment system. Our consultant was on hand to answer residents' questions and ensure a smooth transition to the new laundry. As an added bonus, we arranged for a pancake wagon and refreshments for both children and adults.
