Mads Würtz and Nortec enters partnership – and launch mini-series

A major cycling profile. A familiar collaboration. And a documentary narrative about finding your way in new terrain.

Nortec has entered into a new and ambitious sponsorship with the professional cyclist Mads Würtz – a name that resonates and evokes emotions with us. Not only because Mads is one of Denmark’s most talented riders, but because our history with him goes far back.

Joyful reunion

As a young rider, Mads rode for TEAM TREFOR – BLUE WATER, a cycling team that Nortec co-owned. It was there he truly took his first steps towards an international career – including winning the U23 World Championships in time trial with Nortec on his chest.

Today – many years and victories later – our paths cross again in a new collaboration for this season.

The partnership is not just about logos on clothing. It’s about supporting Mads in the next stage of his career and the courage to venture down new paths. After not having his contract renewed with the World Tour team Israel-Premier Tech, he now faces a challenge like never before: competing in gravel racing against the world elite – a rapidly growing cycling discipline where the routes are rougher, the terrain more unforgiving, and the riders more alone.

He has just completed Europe’s biggest race, The Traka, and at the end of May 2025, he will compete in the world’s biggest race, Unbound Gravel. Here, the ambitions are high, and the dream is to win it all.

Documentary series launching

We’ve been given the opportunity to follow Mads Würtz up close in a brand new documentary series called OFF TRACK. The series offers an honest insight into the ups and downs of his career, the uncertainty after the contract termination, the newfound fascination with gravel, and the hope of fighting his way back to the top – on his own terms.

OFF TRACK will be released on the YouTube channel "Grus & Gear" in three episodes. The first episode premieres on Sunday, 25 May 2025 at 08:00.

OFF TRACK is not just about cycling. It’s about daring to move into new terrain, even if it wasn’t part of the original plan. That’s exactly the mindset we at Nortec want to support.
