Nortec in historic acquisition: Acquires Spanish laundry company

By combining the experience and expertise of two market leaders, we are strengthening our ability to develop and deliver solutions for an industry with ever-increasing demands for operation, documentation and efficiency.

Both Nortec and Lavatur have achieved strong positions in their home markets by consistently challenging the traditional way of thinking about laundry solutions. Together, we create an organisation with more than 22,000 active machines and a strong European presence.

This positions Nortec as one of Europe's largest suppliers of professional laundry solutions – with a solid foundation for further growth.

Nortec was founded 37 years ago in a village outside Vejle. The fact that we now have colleagues and activities from Vejle to Madrid is the result of long-term investments, strong business operations and a willingness to think innovatively.

Local presence has always been crucial to the service we provide. This will not change with the acquisition of Lavatur. Whether our customers are located in Denmark, Spain or Portugal, proximity, accessibility and operational reliability remain our focus.

The acquisition will not entail any major changes for employees, customers or partners in Denmark, Spain and Portugal. We will continue our daily operations as before, and existing agreements, contact persons and service functions will remain unchanged.

Our head office will remain in Vejle, while Lavatur will continue its business from its nine branches in Spain and Portugal. At the same time, we will have the opportunity to learn from each other, share knowledge and strengthen our common direction across the organisations.

Lavatur is a family-owned company founded in 1984 and is today Spain's largest supplier of professional laundry solutions. The company has more than 2,300 customers in sectors including tourism, housing, the military and public institutions.

The business is characterised by strong local roots, high service levels and a business model based on long-term service and rental agreements. With approximately 80 employees and operations in both Spain and Portugal, Lavatur has built a solid and well-established position as a market leader.

The acquisition of Lavatur marks the beginning of a new chapter for us at Nortec. A chapter in which we can grow beyond Denmark's borders and help raise the standard for professional laundry operations in Europe. The next step is to build on what already works – and to become even better together.
